How to use GIX-log

General

This program is a web-based log or diary, in which users can write entries conserning antenna and receivers (antenna & rx), heater, observations, staff or something else (other).

Using the program

1. Go directly to http://localweb/cgi-bin/gix/gixlog.cgi or use the link located on the GIX-Project main page.
2. Enter username and password (the same as for blazar) if you entering from the world outside Metsähovi.
3. Select the matching keyword(s). Keywords are there to help the users, when they want to search spesific messages.
4. Write the message into the message box.
5. Press "add message" -button to add the message to the log or clear-button to clear the message box.

Notes

• Messages are written into a text file called gix.log located in /home/gix/log directory.
• When the size of gix.log exceeds 3000 lines, the messages are copied into an archive file named gixlog-YYYYMMDD.log and the gix.log is cleared.
